LOUD are the first team into the Valorant Champions 2026 grand final. The Brazilian side beat Team Vitality 2-1 in the upper-bracket final in Shanghai, losing Lotus 8-13 before taking Summit 13-5 and the Haven decider 13-11. The official VCT account summed up the moment: “Like 2022 all over again”, a reference to LOUD’s 2022 world title.
The win reversed the teams’ group-stage meeting, which Vitality won 2-0. Neither side was among the pre-tournament favourites, but LOUD’s playoff run has now included wins over Paper Rex and NRG as well as Vitality.
Map by map
| Map | Pick | Score (Vitality – LOUD) | Duration (VLR.gg) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lotus | Vitality | 13-8 | 1:01:23 |
| Summit | LOUD | 5-13 | 1:18:00 |
| Haven | Decider | 11-13 | 49:20 |
On Lotus, Vitality converted the bonus round into a 5-2 lead, Dot Esports reports. LOUD answered with aggressive picks to level the score at 6-6, but Vitality converted another bonus in the second half, with Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen shutting down LOUD’s attempts, and closed the map 13-8.
Summit, where Vitality had won a 19-17 thriller in the group stage, went very differently. LOUD’s methodical split executes met controlled retakes and individual plays from Chronicle and Derke in the first half, which ended 7-5 to LOUD. A round had to be replayed because of technical issues, cancelling a Chronicle clutch. After LOUD won the second pistol, Vitality forced two rounds in a row, fell behind 5-11 and could not recover.
On Haven, Vitality brought an explosive composition with Yoru, Chamber and Neon and converted another bonus, but LOUD’s aggression on defence kept catching them off guard. The second half stayed close until LOUD closed it out 13-11.

Both teams’ road to this point
The match pages on VLR.gg show how both teams reached the upper-bracket final. LOUD lost their group-stage winners’ match to Vitality but recovered to reach the playoffs, then beat Paper Rex in the upper-bracket quarter-final and NRG in the semi-final. Vitality beat Global Esports and LOUD in the group stage, then Nongshim RedForce and G2 Esports in the playoffs before this defeat.
| Stage | LOUD | Team Vitality |
|---|---|---|
| Group stage | Lost to Vitality 0-2, advanced | Beat Global Esports and LOUD |
| Upper quarter-final | Beat Paper Rex | Beat Nongshim RedForce |
| Upper semi-final | Beat NRG | Beat G2 Esports |
| Upper final | Beat Vitality 2-1 | Lost to LOUD 1-2 |
| Lower final | Waiting in grand final | Beat 100 Thieves 3-1 |
A young team with history
LOUD arrived in Shanghai with the youngest roster at the event. If they win the final, THESPIKE.GG notes, they will become the first organisation to win Valorant Champions twice, and do so with the youngest roster ever to reach a Champions grand final.
The final
LOUD’s opponent will again be Team Vitality, who recovered in the lower bracket and beat 100 Thieves 3-1 on 17 October. That sets up a third meeting between the teams in Shanghai, with the series between them currently tied at one win each.
The grand final is on 18 October at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Riot Games has said a new agent will be revealed live on the broadcast before the match. A Vitality win would bring the Champions trophy back to EMEA for the first time in five years and make Chronicle only the second player, after Sacy, to win both a Masters and a Champions title, according to THESPIKE.GG.
What to watch
The two previous series have shown a clear pattern: Vitality are strong on their own Lotus pick, while LOUD have been more comfortable on Summit and Haven. The veto and LOUD’s ability to keep lukxo and erde winning opening duels are likely to decide the title. EsportsSignal will report the result after the final.
